Myths Men Should Unlearn About Sex

There are so many sex myths holding us back from living the love life of our dreams, and so many that men specifically have yet to unlearn. This is why I was so excited to talk to AskMen for their article “Things Guys Need to Unlearn About Sex: Sex Myths Men Should Forget Right Away” — it’s time to share some knowledge!

As Alex Manley says in the article, sex education is already a pretty complicated thing. Plenty of us barely received any sex ed from our families or schools, and then throw in all the sex myths and rumors that abound on our sex-obsessed-but-sex-negative culture. It can feel a bit overwhelming! But no worries, there’s so many educators like myself who want you to overcome these myths, conquer your fears, and achieve all your erotic goals!

The biggest myth that I tackled for the article is the one that is near-and-dear to my heart: that bigger is better when it comes to penis size. This myth costs countless men sexual self-confidence and self-esteem, with countless articles promising pro tips on how to compensate for your average-sized cock. I want to tell people that there’s no need to compensate! Love the penis you have. About 70 percent of men have a penis that’s between 4.7 and 6.3 inches in length, and between 4.3 and 5.5 in circumference.

As I always say, for every vagina there’s a penis that’s too small, too big, or just right. The goal isn’t to love the penis you have despite its size; the goal is to love the penis you have because every size has pros and cons. Check out my previous blog post all about this!

I talk myths about foreplay, the clitoris, and more in the article — plus other amazing sex educators unpack myths that I’m always confronting about sex toys, lasting longer, anal play, and more! Go read about it all at AskMen and start dismantling the myths that are holding you back!
